Our friends at Creation Theatre are creating a new immersive theatre production travelling from Blackbird Leys to Oxford City Centre and they are looking for people to join their cast.
The storyline was inspired by conversations they had with members of the Leys community around the history of the estate, especially the experience of arriving as part of the Windrush generation. It is also about whether Oxford has ever been a city of sanctuary and who else has arrived here hoping to change the world.
The creative team are looking for a chorus of 'extras' - volunteers who are up for committing to a week of performances, Wednesday to Sunday.
One chorus is for women only (anyone who identifies as a woman or as non-binary) as they will be Suffragettes from 1913.
One chorus needs to be mostly women but they have room for a few men! This is a chorus of nurses and their supporters (doctors, friends) who are protesting outside the maternity hospital for equal pay for Black nurses.
Anyone over 16 is welcome - if you have an under 16 year old who is really keen, please get in touch to talk through if the team could chaperone them appropriately.

You'll be part of lively crowd scenes alongside professional performers, helping bring Oxford's history and stories to life. This exciting show takes audiences on a journey through time by bus and on foot, meeting remarkable pioneers, changemakers and everyday heroes along the way.
