Hello there everyone!
Just woofing in to see how your summer’s going?
I’ve been busy playing with my new toy! ⚽ And Heidi has been giving me crushed ice because I’m not keen on the heat we’ve been having! 🥵
I’m looking forward to September, to meet old and new friends in schools and in the park! It’s been a bit of a shame not seeing my good friend Harry because he moved away. But we’re planning a big party when he’s next in my neck of the woods, which will be soon! 🎊
I must say change can be tough, especially for an older boy like me. You see, I’m a bit set in my ways!
But it’s also a chance to strike up new friendships, have a sniff and see what’s round the corner! We dogs like to sniff each other out first, and we do the same with humans….don’t be offended if I do come and sniff you out soon! 🐩 🐕🦺
When I first get linked to a school I like to check out the place first, to make sure I’ll be comfortable there. Heidi brings me a few times because sometimes it takes a while to get used to new things. But then it usually turns out ok.
The work we do is soooooo much fun! Heidi sets up the room while I get to say hello - it’s my favourite part of the day! Heidi asks whoever is in the room to stay quite still because when I see lots of movement I can get a bit too excited and then it can be tricky to calm down- know the feeling? Usually we start with a scent trail because when I’m sniffing, I’m busy! Children seem to love hiding my treats, which is fair enough but only if it’s not tooooooo hard for me to find them!
After that we usually play some more games, or we might go for a walk or decide to invent something totally new! The sky’s the limit!
But some children just like to sit with me and do something quiet. That’s fine, too…..especially if they give my ears a nice massage! I have been known to drift off to sleep though if it’s really relaxing! 😴
Anyway, I’m woofing on now…..so I’ll sign off here and see you soon!
